New Cathedral

Building for the Glory of God β€” A Monument of Faith for Future Generations

A Vision Becoming Reality

The Ongoing New Cathedral Project

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain." β€” Psalm 127:1

The New St. Sebastian Catholic Cathedral is an ambitious, faith-driven project to construct a magnificent new house of worship that will accommodate the rapidly growing congregation of our diocese and stand as a lasting monument to God's glory in Ijebu-Ode.

The new building is designed to seat over 3,000 worshippers in a breathtaking architectural space that honours our Catholic heritage while embracing modern craftsmanship. The project includes the main cathedral hall, a baptistery, side chapels, sacristy, offices, and ample parking facilities.

Construction began after years of prayer, planning, and fundraising. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of parishioners, diaspora communities, well-wishers, and donors, remarkable progress has been made. We invite every member of our parish family to be part of this historic undertaking.
