Faithful Shepherds Who Served with Grace β Remembered with Gratitude
St. Sebastian Catholic Cathedral has been blessed over the decades by dedicated priests who gave their lives in faithful service to God and the people of Odo-Egbo. Each administrator brought unique gifts, vision, and love to this community.
We honour their memory and their sacrifices. May perpetual light shine upon those who have gone to eternal rest, and may God continue to bless those still with us.
Currently serving as the Parish Priest and Administrator of St. Sebastian Catholic Cathedral, guiding the parish community with pastoral care, spiritual leadership, and administrative oversight.
The founding priest of St. Sebastian Catholic Cathedral who established the parish in Odo-Egbo in 1956. Under his visionary leadership, the original church building was constructed and the first sacraments were administered. He laid the spiritual and physical foundations upon which the cathedral stands today. A man of deep prayer, he is fondly remembered as a father to all.
A devoted shepherd who deepened the spiritual life of the parish during the post-independence era. He expanded the parish school apostolate, established the first Catholic Women's Organization chapter, and led the parish through a period of significant growth and evangelization across the Odo-Egbo community.
A gifted preacher and community builder whose tenure saw the renovation of the church building and the establishment of vibrant lay apostolate movements. He championed education, founding or supporting schools within the parish territory. His legacy in community service remains deeply felt to this day.
Known for his administrative excellence and pastoral warmth, this priest oversaw the construction of the Cathedral Hall and expansion of parish facilities. Under his guidance, the Charismatic Renewal Movement was formally introduced to the parish, bringing a new dimension of spiritual renewal to the faithful.
A gentle and deeply spiritual priest who nurtured the prayer life of the parish. He introduced structured catechism programmes, reorganised parish societies, and mentored many young men who later entered the priesthood. His era is recalled as a time of profound spiritual depth and community harmony.
A dynamic and energetic leader whose administration oversaw the parish's 50th anniversary jubilee celebrations in 2006. He expanded charitable outreach significantly and was instrumental in initiating the early planning discussions for a new cathedral building to serve the growing congregation.
Presided over a remarkable era of parish renewal. He launched a comprehensive restructuring of parish governance, established the Parish Finance Committee, and championed transparency in parish finances. His tenure coincided with the formal commencement of the New Cathedral building project, a legacy he is greatly celebrated for.
Led the parish with great fervour through a period of significant construction progress on the new cathedral. He deepened parish stewardship culture and launched the parish website and digital outreach programme to connect with parishioners and the diaspora community worldwide.
